Big winners announced by eGaming Review

On Monday 25th November all the big names of the online gambling world came together for the announcement of the winners of the eGR Awards 2013. Past hosts have included Rufus Hound (who subsequently retired from stand up comedy) and Jimmy Carr, but this year’s proceedings were overseen by rising star Kevin Bridges, having been selected by popular vote by eGR readers.\r\n\r\nWhile many bingo sites offer sportsbook and casino gambling, there are other gambling sites that make up the catergories that don’t have bingo, so here we will just show the categories and names best associated with bingo that were successful on the night.\r\n\r\nThe judging process was much more rigorous this year. All the nominees in all the headline sections had to travel to London to present their case for being awarded the prize in front of a panel of industry experts.\r\n\r\ntombolaegr3In the bingo industry probably the most coveted award is the Bingo Operator of the Year and for the third time and for the second year in a row this was won by tombola Bingo. The site also walked away with a second award – the Socially Responsible Operator of the Year. The main award is earned by the constant delivery of new games and excellent service, but the latter was definitely worked towards by tombola as they made a number of changes to their site this year to ensure that customers stay in control of their spending.\r\n\r\nWilliam Hill will have had mixed feelings about their performance this year and how it was recognised. While the company was nominated in seven categories they only secured one award. However, that award probably summed up their efforts in all the other categories as they won the Outstanding Contribution award.\r\n\r\nFellow sportsbook site Paddy Power was by contrast one of the big winners of the night, securing three awards: Slots Operator, Financial Betting Product and Social Marketing Campaign.\r\n\r\nMobile bingo is at the forefront of the plans of all gambling operators and that includes online bingo providers. Mecca Bingo got a huge boost with regard to their efforts, being named as having the Best Mobile Product.\r\n\r\nThe power behind Jackpotjoy, Gamesys, won two awards – those for Social Bingo Product and Customer Services Operator.\r\n\r\n888.com won the award for Operator of the Year, while the 888Poker and 888Casino brands won in their categories too.\r\n\r\nThis was another great celebration of a great and growing industry – well done to everyone concerned.
